Deputy Sheriff Application ( reserve and full time)

All GCSO Deputy Sheriffs must fulfill the minimum standards set forth by  Missouri Police Officers Standards and Training. Attendance and successful completion of a state-accredited Law Enforcement Academy (or qualifying reciprocal training) is mandatory.  Deputies must attend additional training yearly to maintain their professional law enforcement license.  

Full-time deputies employed by GSCO have furnished a  fully equipped take-home vehicle (residency restrictions apply), Sidearm,  Semi-Auto Tactical long gun, uniforms including footwear, duty belt, and accessories.  Each patrol unit is equipped with digital communications capable radio. 

Reserve Deputy Sheriffs are required to complete State-mandated reserve officer training and certification and maintain continuing education.   Reserve Deputy Sheriffs may be required to provide their own equipment.
